We found this hotel to be absolutely delightful. From the moment we stepped into the room to the relaxing evening in the private pool surrounded by trees, this place really is a “forest in the city”. The European breakfast was delicious, with homemade bread and many different jams to choose from. They also have a lovely little bar in the reception area with computers. The staff was very friendly and we very much enjoyed our stay at this peaceful place.
We decided to take a trip back to Chiang Mai for relaxing travel. The hotel was beautiful and very peaceful. Comfortable beds, they actually have soft padding on them. The breakfast and dinner food was great. We found the staff to be very helpful and unobtrusive. Thank you very much. rewat family
It's like a beach resort, but in the city, full of plants, green, like a jungle in the city, with two swimming pools, gym, and free internet wifi. Very relaxing and staff very courteous. Breakfast good.
The staff were helpful and kind and I felt very much at home in a professional but relaxed and friendly atmophere. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and although basic design, some warm and welcoming touches to the decor. It was a bit like staying at a friends 'Queenslander' with a fresh tropical garden outside your window. I would like to stay there again if I revisit Chiang Mai. 5 to 10 minute walk to the Old City and Night Bazaar and great location for Songkran!
Good location close to river and 10 minutes walk from night bazaar. Nice suites but a little gloomy with poor lighting.
The hotel seems not to trust their guests! On check-in we were asked to pay in full (even though a credit card guarantee had been provided with the booking). On check out we were asked to wait "while we check the room" ... I said "don't worry, we have not stolen anything", and left! Not what is expected of a hotel in this price category, more the behaviour and mentality of a youth hostel!
Its like a resort place and full of greenery.
The outstanding facilities and excellent staff
the place is so peaceful, food is excellent..the staff is very acommodating tho we had a language barrier..if ihave the chance to go back to changmai,i will surely comeback to Shewe Wana..and will recommend it to my friends..
good breakfast and attentive staff
I found the deluxe double room to be dark and unwelcoming there is no private balcony.Floor of bare cement ancient tv, toilet has varnished cement walls and a thrown together look about it. Room was clean and good bed
A wonderful garden slightly apart from the center of the town. Nice facilities surrounded by quiet gardens, outstanding service and cozy rooms. The breakfast was really good, in quality and quantity.
The bathroom is somehow small. The wifi coverage is not good in some of the rooms, and the speed of the connection is below expectations.
Wonderful, warm hospitality. Staff went out of their way - very heplful and friendly. Would definatley stay there upon return trip. Loved all the small touches which made stay very comfortable. Eco friendly. Quiet and relaxing
The location is quite good, it is outside the city so expect to pay a bit more for a taxi from the airport. Night markets are minutes away via Tuk Tuk. Otherwise its about 15 minutes walk. Staff are attentive and caring, you can ask them anything and they will help. Nice garden in all around really sets off the mood, and you forget you are in a suburban area.
Walls are really thin. So if you have neighbours who like to gossip then you might feel that they are in the room with you.
The "jungle" atmosphere, the place where the breakfast is served and the breakfast itself, and the pool.
The room was a bit basic and the price of the spa.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Being a small resort, there was a family atmosphere with attention to details. The owner was willing to listen to suggestions for improvements and facilities. It was easy to get into the city as transport was readily available outside the hotel or it was a 20 minute walk. The hotel also arranged airport transfers free of charge. There was a good selection of menu for breakfast and the daily dinner promotion was very good value. We would certainly stay there again.
There was not a lot of clothes storage in the room we had but we were told that an upgrade would not cost a lot more for a future stay. At this time over Christmas the hotel was very busy.
Shewe Wana is a beautiful boutique hotel. The staff is excellent and go out of their way to make your stay special. We were traveling with our 22 month old daughter, and they were wonderful with her. Our room was beautiful, quiet, and contained so many unique and lovely details that made our stay memorable. We had a great holiday in Chiang Mai. We cannot recommend this hotel enough.
pools are a bit chilly in December as they are not heated, and bring your bug spray- the mosquitos are ravenous, but so worth the 'jungle garden' beauty of the place!
